“Tink” Live Action Tinker Bell Series Reportedly In Development For Disney+ Again

Disney can not stop making live-action versions of everything it owns. While “Robin Hood” got shelved, Deadline is reporting that Tinker Bell is poking its head out of live-action development purgatory to remind us she’s there.

Clap if you think this is a bad idea.

Deadline is reporting this will be a Disney+ Drama Series…..but why?

“…Disney+ is developing Tink, a drama series featuring the character, from Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter.”

Heldens and Carpenter would write and executive-produce this show along with Quinn Haberman from Selfish Mermaid.

Tink has been in development for over 10 years now

This is not new news.

The famous “Peter Pan” fairy was up for live-action adaptations in 2015 and 2021.

In the early 2015 version, Reese Witherspoon was set to star. That didn’t go anywhere, so in 2021, Gary Marsh tried to bring it back before he “stepped down” as President and  Chief  Creative Officer at Disney Branded Television.

11 years later, she is popping back in again to see if this time a live-action “drama” will stick.  Gary Marsh is back with his production company trying to get this one done with Disney’s 20th Television.

Frankly, I think Gary Marsh and Disney need to cool it with all the live-action remakes and reimaginings.  They started to pull back, but did well with “Lilo and Stitch and immediately went right back into the lazy mode, pulling “Rapunzel” back off the shelf and into development again.

What do you think? Do you want to see a live-action drama with Tinker Bell?
