Previously, we reported that Bette Midler indicated a “Hocus Pocus 3” film was in the works at Disney. Now Thora Birch, who played Dani Dennison, said she would be “super open” to returning as an older Dani.
A continuation from the 1993 film is what fans have wanted the entire time.
Fans will likely be excited as many wanted to see Thora Birch (Dani) return, along with Omri Katz (Max) and Vinessa Shaw (Allison) in the “Hocus Pocus 2” film. Instead, we only saw the return of the Sanderson sisters and Billy Butcherson.
Even though the fans wanted the trio back for the last film they were not asked to return according to Omri Katz,
“We weren’t invited to that meeting. So we don’t really know why we weren’t invited. I think the fan base really wanted to see something with us. … Yeah, I don’t know. It’s hard to really figure out the decisions that are made regarding what they want to do.”
Now Thora Birch has said she too was interested in the third “Hocus Pocus” film.
Birch told “Entertainment Tonight”,
“Yeah, I’d like to know what they land on for how Dani wound up. I’m super open to the idea. They love talking about this stuff, so we’ll see.”
Hopefully, Disney listens to the fans and brings back all the main cast from the original and not just the Sanderson sisters, even though they killed them off again, by crossing them over.
For some reason, Disney has a hard time bringing back popular IP and getting it right. “Star Wars” fans wanted to see Han, Luke, and Leia together again, and pass the torch to new characters. But, they got them back and didn’t put them together again.
“Hocus Pocus” fans wanted to see Dani, Max, and Allison square off against the Sanderson sisters, and they wouldn’t do that either.
Disney, just listen to the fans, and all will be well.
