The Upcoming Ahsoka Series Adds Ivanna Sakhno To The Cast

Ukranian born actress Ivanna Sakhno is the latest casting accounted for the upcoming Ahsoka mini series for Disney Plus. She joins Rosario Dawson (Ahsoka Tano) and Natasha “Liu” Bordizzo (Sabine Wren) as we see the former Jedi on her journey to find Ezra Bridger after the events of the Star Wars: Rebels animated series.

Ivanna Sakhno began acting in 2005 in Lesya + Roma, a Ukrainian sitcom. Over the years she would continue to act in Ukrainian television until her first film role in 2013 Ivan the Powerful. She made her American debut in 2017’s Can’t Take It Back. Her most notable role was in 2018’s Pacific Rim: Uprising, the sequel to the cult classic Pacific Rim from 2013. She has continued to play smaller parts in films such as 2018’s The Spy Who Dumped Me and 2020’s Let It Snow.

The Ahsoka series is said to be a big part of the “Feloni-verse” going forward and we get to see more of the female force user, as well as bring classic expanded universe characters and stories into canon. Grand Admiral Thrawn is currently rumored to be one of the main villains of the series, with Ivanna Sakhno rumored to be playing a female Chiss (Thrawn’s species) who worked either under him or has a similar rank in command.

With Kathleen Kennedy being renewed at Lucasfilm some fans are worried that she may impact these plans. But she she is apparently busy with the ‘Indiana Jones 5’ film so it’s unlikely to change.

Are you looking forward to the Ahsoka series?
