The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover Closure Extended Until May 1, 2021

I’m sure this will not be surprising to most of you, but Disney has just extended the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (TTA) PeopleMover closure until April 30th.

The PeopleMover has been down since before the parks closed for the Pandemic last year. It’s reopening has been announced several times, to only be pushed back.  The most recent “reopening date” was April 4th on Easter Sunday.

Now the calendar shows that it is being closed for refurbishment through April, with it being removed from the refurbishment list on May 1st.

Recently there has been a lot of activity on the attraction with Cast Members around and testing going on. Hopefully this is the final extension, but who knows.

The rumor is that they had to replace sensors on the attraction as the ride vehicles kept having issues with slamming into each other. I know that this happened right before it was shut down early last year.

I just hope it’s back up soon. It’s one of our favorite attractions in the Magic Kingdom and there’s almost always a line for it.
