The Mos Eisley Cantina is HasLab’s Next Crowdfunder!

Hasbro’s next HasLab crowdfunding campaign is here! After the success of the Star Wars Rebels Ghost, the toymaker is heading into Original Trilogy territory with the iconic Mos Eisley Canina!

Get ready for lots of tiny parts! Drinkware, chairs, tables, and more are part of this modular system that allows you to recreate the hive of scum and villainy in any way you’d like … for a price.

The base Cantina set, priced at $399, comes with the following:

• 8 round tables  
• 1 large rectangular table  
• 4 tall stools  
• 15 short stools  
• 5 single-seat chairs  
• 4 two-seat benches  
• 8 different types of cups (over 100 total cups!) 
• Barware including pipes and accessories 
• Wall art sticker sheet
• Carded Vintage Collection Exclusive Wuher figure
• Carded Vintage Collection Exclusive Senni Tonnika figure
• Carded Vintage Collection Exclusive Brea Tonnika figure

The most intriguing thing about the Mos Eisley Cantina campaign is the inclusion of the Tonnika sisters. If you don’t know the backstory regarding why these figures are rarely/never seen, check out this video by Spector Creative.

You’ve probably noticed that the Cantina is missing part of the building. That’s because Hasbro wants you to pay more for the whole thing. Of course, Hasbro is doing Hasbro things, as usual.

For $100 more, backers will get the other side of the Cantina (including the spot where Han shot first). Here’s what comes in the $499 set:

• 3 additional modular booth sections  
• 5 additional short stools  
• 2 additional single-seat chairs  
• 4 additional 2-seat benches  
• 6 additional round tables  
• 20 more cups  
• Unique wall decor   

So, for $399 and $499, I was expecting a bit more. Sure, Hasbro is giving backers lots of bits of plastic but zero electronics. This thing costs as much as the Spengler Proton Pack but has no LED or sound chip.

There’s no doubt that this one will be successful, like the Ghost. The Mos Eisley Cantina is almost halfway backed and only a few days old. However, like with the Rancor debacle, customers must demand Hasbro provide more bang for the buck.

Don’t expect those add-ons to be part of the additional tiers. You’re only going to get the following Vintage Collection figures:

• Greedo (11,000 backers)
• Nabrun Leids (14,000 backers)
• Arleil Schous (17,000 backers)
