‘The Lion King’ Inspired Treats Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Lion King and Disney’s Animal Kingdom has several treats that celebrate this iconic film!

First we’ll start off with one that’s already available but it’s so cute!

Simba Cupcake – (Available at Pizzafari) Yellow/Vanilla cupcake that’s filled with white chocolate mousse and topped with buttercream. A mane made of icing and an edible piece featuring Simba.

All these new treats will begin on May 24th and will run through the summer season at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Treats at Tamu Tamu

Simba’s Ice Cream Sandwich– “Vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies and decorated with chocolate tail and an image of Simba.”

Simba’s Sunset Dole Whip –Pineapple Dole Whip topped with “red syrup” (made from watermelon and coconut.)

King’s Cooler – Pineapple Dole Whip with rum topped with “red syrup” (made from watermelon and coconut.)

Asante Slush – (Available at the Shave Ice Cart Near Harambe Market) This treat is shaved ice topped with watermelon and passion fruit-mango syrup.

Serengeti Sangria – (Available at Dawa Bar, Harambe Market, and Boneyard Bar)-Red sangria

Bugs ‘n Grub Waffle Cone – (Available at Anandapur Bus and Trilo-Bites)

This treat is so cute! It’s chocolate soft-serve ice cream in a green waffle cone topped with cookies and cream “dirt” crumbles, gummy worms, and a chocolate beetle.

Hot or iced latte with white chocolate and coconut and featuring Joffrey’s “Flavors of Africa” artisan roast coffee from Kenya

The Lion King Sipper Cup and Popcorn Bucket – (Available Later this Summer at various Outdoor Vending Locations throughout the Park-while supplies last.)

I really like that popcorn bucket. I don’t usually buy them because I don’t use them later and taking things on the plane can be bulky, but I really like this one!

Special “The Lion King”-themed Merchandise – (Available at Mombasa Marketplace, Discovery Trading Company, and Island Mercantile) Check out all the new apparel and merchandise celebrating The Lion King, showing up at the Animal Kingdom shops!

Some of these treats look AMAZING! I especially love the Dole Whips and the Simba Ice Cream Sandwich!
