Get ready fellow holiday light fans! ABC is bringing back ‘The Great Christmas Light Fight‘ for an eighth season! They are also bringing the ‘Heavyweights’ special for a third year!

The series premiers on December 9th at 8PM EST and will be hosted by judges Taniya Nayak and Carter Oosterhouse.
Each episode is one hour and according to People “..will feature four families who go head-to-head as they show off their elaborate decorations while trying to win a $50,000 prize, as well as the highly-coveted Light Fight trophy.”
The Heavyweights special will also be returning and will “feature its first-ever parade of over-the-top floats as well as an impressive mile-long display filled with over a million synchronized lights.”
I’m super excited about this one! I can’t imagine how high the electric bills are for some of these people!
