However, for the purpose of this article, we want to focus on the holiday season treats. This quick service location often offers some hidden gems of seasonal food at Universal Orlando. The original online menu listed the following items as available at San Francisco Pastry Company for the holiday season:

  • Coquito Igloo – $7.49
  • Cookie Butter Petit Cake – $5.49
  • Peppermint Mocha Petit Cake – $6.49
  • Mitten Cookie – $4.29.

However, on the opening weekend, this location failed to have the Peppermint Mocha Petit Cake. Still, we tasted this at another location. For the record, we enjoyed it at that location.

Also, the Mitten Cookie was not available. Like the Peppermint Mocha Petit Cake, we tried this at another location.

Another item appeared on the online menu when we visited the San Francisco Pastry Company. The Vegan Cookie Butter Snowflake now appears on the menu.

We saw the Vegan Cookie Butter Snowflake behind the bakery case glass. We did not order it here since we had already tried it from Croissant Moon Bakery twice that day. For the record, we enjoyed this treat but not as much as last year’s version.

Cookie Butter Petit Cake – $5.49

Good and Bad Holiday Treats

Universal Orlando does a fine job with what they call petit cakes or trifle cakes. Those appear in some form during various seasons of the year. The 2023 holiday season brought guests the Cookie Butter Petit Cake. This layered cake with whipped cream and some cookie butter with cookies fits the standard pattern at Universal Orlando Resort. We enjoyed this simple but tasty treat.

Coquito Igloo – $7.49

Good and Bad Holiday Treats

In contrast, we did not enjoy the Coquito Igloo. The excellent idea of trying to add coquito flavor to holiday season items at Universal Orlando Resort. The preparation and presentation deserve high marks.

However, like the Letters to Santa Milkshake at Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Savory Feast Kitchen, the coquito flavoring does not meet the usual Universal Orlando standards. The coconut flavor expected with this Puerto Rican holiday drink can be found. Still, that did not pair well with the rest of this creation.

In addition, as a person who rarely drinks alcohol, I felt the lack of an alcoholic-like flavor hindered this igloo-shaped treat immensely. Nonetheless, we suspect some changes are being made to help this cute holiday treat.

That breaks down the good and the bad of the holiday treats at San Francisco Pastry Company at Universal Studios Florida. As always, eat like you mean it!
