The First Trailer For Venom: The Last Dance Paints A Bleak Picture

The first trailer for the upcoming third (and potentially final) installment of SONY’s Venom series, Venom: The Last Dance, has just been released online. Within less than 14 hours of this article, the video had already reached over 12.5 million views on the Sony Pictures Entertainment YouTube Channel.

The official synopsis reads: “In Venom: The Last Dance, Tom Hardy returns as Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters, for the final film in the trilogy. Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie’s last dance.

The trailer first shows Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom take on a group of thugs running an illegal dog fighting ring. After that brief event, we see that Eddie is not being targeted by the military, specifically to get at the symbiote attached to him.

We then see that an invasion from Venom’s home planet is coming, with multiple giant creatures attacking and eating humans. Eddie and Venom start to question whether either one of them will make it out alive.

Stephen Graham will play Patrick Mulligan, aka Toxin, the main villain of the film. Unfortunately, we don’t see Michelle Williams’ Anne Whying, aka She-Venom, who was his love interest from the previous films. There also seems to be no indication (at least not yet) of other fan-favorite symbiotes such as Scream, Phage, Lasher, Agony, or Anti-Venom.

It is unknown how this film will acknowledge or connect to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, given that the previous film saw him travel to the MCU but warp back to the SSU at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. With this being the supposed end of the Venom series, many fans are both saddened and disappointed that we may never get to see Tom Hardy’s Venom meet Tom Holland’s Spider-Man.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to the final chapter of the Venom saga? Let us know your thoughts.
