The Boneyard At Dinoland U.S.A. Will Close in September

Disney has announced that the kids’ play area in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Dinoland U.S.A. section, called the “Boneyard”, will close down on September 1, 2025. This will start the second phase of transforming the area into the new Tropical Americas section of the park.

The Boneyard was a large play area focused on dinosaur bones. My daughter was a big fan of the sand area where guests could “uncover” fossils. Now she wants to be an archeologist and admits that part of the reason was this play area.

Now it will be gone forever, but Disney is promising a new play area with the new Tropical Americas re-theme.

As of September 2, only Restaurantosaurus and DINOSAUR will remain open. We still have no closure dates for either of those, but we do know that DINOSAUR will remain open for all of 2025.
