The Acolyte Becomes The Worst Rated Star Wars Show Of All Time

The recent Star Wars television series The Acolyte has set a massive record for the franchise, but not in a way the showrunners may have hoped for. After airing less than half of the season’s episodes, the show has set the record for the worst-rated Star Wars television series of all time (on Rotten Tomatoes’ audience score).

Previously, the show set a precedent when it passed the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special last week. The Holiday Special, once considered one of the worst pieces of Star Wars media of all time, had a 20% audience score. However, the previous record holder for the worst-rated piece of Star Wars media was the Ewoks cartoon, which had a 17% score. Since then, the Holiday Special and the Ewoks cartoon have increased to 21% and 22%, respectively.

The Acolyte has now taken its place and currently sits at a 14% audience score.

While this series has seemingly damaged the franchise, it has actually done something that many thought was impossible after The Last Jedi: uniting the fandom. No matter what side of the aisle you find yourself on, whether you like the Disney sequel trilogy or not, The Acolyte is almost unanimously disliked by fans, with the only defenders seemingly being media outlets and influencers.

Despite the show reportedly being torn apart by fans the number of people “hate watching” the show could lead to a greenlighting of a second season. Much like what was seen with HBO Max’s “Velma” series. But only time will tell if that ever happens.

What do you think? Is The Acolyte the worst Star Wars series of all time? Has it done the impossible and united the fans once more? Let us know your thoughts.
