If you have been missing Test Track, I have good news for you. Disney has announced that the EPCOT attraction will reopen in late Summer 2025 and will be sponsored again by General Motors!
When the ride originally opened in 1999, GM sponsored it until they redid the attraction in 2012 and changed it to Chevrolet.
General Motors Returns
GM has a long history with Test Track and the pavilion it replaced, The World of Motion. Back when the popular omnimover attraction debuted with EPCOT in 1982, GM was the sponsor and remained the sponsor until the building was closed in 1996.

After The World of Motion’s demise, General Motors stayed on to sponsor the original version of Test Track, which focused on vehicle testing with the popular Crash Test Dummies seen in commercials.
GM stayed the sponsor until the ride was rethemed.
Now, they are returning with the new Test Track attraction retheme, which will incorporate elements from the original World of Motion.
So far, we don’t know much else, but we know that the attraction will reopen by September 2025.

The Disney Parks Blog posted this regarding Test Track, saying,
“Get ready to feel the thrill of the open road, the wind in your hair, and nothing but adventure ahead! Test Track presented by General Motors is making its return lap late summer 2025. Walt Disney Imagineering has been working with General Motors on an all-new storyline – you’ll want to be all buckled in for an adventure. You might even see cars returning to the track (for testing…at Test Track…nice) with their new look early in the year!”
