Taco Bell October menu rumor: Dipping Burritos and a Milk Bar empanada

A leaked list floating around says seven new items hit Taco Bell on Oct. 15. Taco Bell hasn’t confirmed it, but two of the items are already in test markets and one is on the chain’s official 2026 slate.

Taco Bell might have a busy October. Or at least an employee thinks so.

Markie Devo, the fast-food leaker who has been early on more menu drops than most PR departments, posted a list on X on Sept. 26 of what he says is Taco Bell’s October menu. Seven items, with a speculated nationwide date of Oct. 15.

He also said, in the same post, that the list came from a Taco Bell employee and that “Taco Bell didn’t confirm or announce this news.”

So hold it loosely. Then look at the items, because a few of them are already real.

What’s on Taco Bell’s rumored October 2026 menu?

Per Devo’s post, seven things:

• Chicken Crunchadillas

• Double Dipping Burritos, steak or chicken, with chile lime crema on one side of the cup and tortilla strips with cotija cheese on the other

• Creamy Sriracha Chicken Nacho Fries

• Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada, while supplies last

• Strawberry Dream Refresca

• Pine Dragonfruit Dream Refresca

• Pine Dragonfruit Dream Refresca Freeze

Are the Dipping Burritos and Crunchadilla real Taco Bell items?

Yes. Both have been on test menus this month.

Taco Bell tested Dipping Burritos in Elyria, Ohio, per Totally the Bomb on Sept. 22. The test version was snack-size, filled with steak or slow-roasted chicken, avocado ranch and a three-cheese blend, and came with a divided cup holding ghost pepper sauce on one side and spicy cheese crisps on the other.

The rumored national version swaps those for chile lime crema and cotija tortilla strips. Test items change before they go wide, so that tracks.

The Chicken Crunchadilla showed up on select Houston menus around the same time, alongside a Crunchwrap Dipper and a Crispy Chicken Soft Taco. Taco Bell told outlets it had “not announced a nationwide rollout for these particular menu finds.”

Is the Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada confirmed?

That one is official. Taco Bell put the Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada on its 2026 lineup at its Live Mas Live event earlier this year, per the company’s newsroom. The chain listed it among 20-plus items for the year without a date.

Milk Bar is Christina Tosi‘s New York bakery, and its birthday cake is the one with the rainbow crumb. An empanada version has been on the calendar since spring. October would just be when it lands.

Taco Bell’s current empanadas, Chocolate Fudge and Caramel, launched after the same event.

When does Taco Bell’s October menu come out?

Oct. 15 is the rumored date, and it’s the least certain part of the post. Devo called it “speculated.”

Taco Bell usually confirms new items about a week ahead, through its app and newsroom. If a mid-October drop is coming, expect an official word around Oct. 8.

What else is new at Taco Bell right now?

The chain has had a big year on the menu side. Nacho Fries went permanent after years of limited runs, with a Flamin’ Hot version alongside, per Taco Bell. Diablo, Cool Ranch and Flamin’ Hot dusted Crispy Chicken Nuggets are on the 2026 slate too.

The Refrescas have become Taco Bell’s main drink play. Strawberry Horchata is on the official list, and the two Dream flavors in Devo’s post would extend the line into fall.

None of that requires the leak to be right. If it is, the Dipping Burritos are the ones to watch. A two-sided sauce cup is the kind of thing that either becomes a menu staple or disappears in six weeks.
