Nintendo Direct is happening today, and the trailer has dropped for the “Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” giving us a look at the new worlds, mini Bowser, Lumas, and Rosalina.
“Super Mario Galaxy Movie” is the sequel to the box office hit “Super Mario Movie,” produced by Nintendo and Illumination. The new film is based on the popular 2007 video game.
My son had me play that game so he could watch it over and over when he was very small. Super Mario Galaxy” and “LEGO Star Wars” started his love of gaming.

The film will once again star Jack Black as Bowser, Chris Pratt as Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anna Taylor-Joy as Peach, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, and Michael Richardson as Kamek.
IGN reports indicate Brie Larson will play Rosalina, a space princess that many fans have speculated has a connection to Princess Peach.
The film is being directed by the “Super Mario Movie” directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. It’s scheduled to hit theaters on April 3, 2026.
