Takashi Okazaki takes on Star Wars Outlaws for Weekly Famitsu

‘Star Wars Outlaws’ Looks Better Thanks to Afro Samurai’s Creator!

We’re not going to mince words here. Star Wars Outlaws is not looking good. However, if Ubisoft had used Takashi Okazaki’s style for the whole game, maybe we’d be more forgiving.

The creator of Afro Samurai created an admittedly great-looking Kay Vess, ND-5, and Nix. Considering the controversy surrounding the upcoming game’s visuals, this is a nice departure.

[Special feature just before release] Star Wars: The Outlaws is the latest installment in the Star Wars series and the first open-world action adventure. We will introduce the unique elements of this work, such as the protagonists Kay Vess and Nyx’s rise to power as “villains,” the open galaxy full of exploration elements, and a variety of actions such as gunfights and stealth. The cover illustration was drawn specifically for this magazine!

Star Wars Outlaws has had way more drama than expected before release. We’ve all come to expect some questionable antics from Ubisoft, but the adventures of Kay Vess kept snowballing.

The latest rumors alleged Ubisoft paid off certain content creators/YouTubers for favorable reviews by offering them trips to Disney parks. Some individuals were indeed given this opportunity, but it isn’t that uncommon.

Netflix, CBS, and NBC had flown me out to various filming locations in the past, but sadly, they never included theme park tickets. Then again, I did get to see a truck blow up on the set of The Strangers Prey at Night, so that was way better than going to Galaxy’s Edge.

“Access media” is a real issue in our profession. We used to be able to rely on independent YouTubers to give us unfiltered opinions on games, but that is changing as the platform quickly outpaces sites like IGN and Gamespot.
