Star Wars Bounty Hunter Returns ... again

‘Star Wars Bounty Hunter’ to be Re-Released on Modern Consoles!

Star Wars Bounty Hunter launched in 2002 and gave us what we had all been waiting for: an adventure where we played as a gun-slinger with a jet pack! Over twenty years later, the game is getting re-released … again!

For years, Bounty Hunter has been available on Sony’s PlayStation consoles. However, the game wasn’t considered upgraded, remastered, or updated. It still had all the same issues from the early 2000s.

The studio behind the latest release, Aspyr, has made some changes to the two-decade-old title. According to Comicbook.com, a Boba Fett skin has been added, along with a much-need flashlight feature, updated lighting, and fresher textures.

Star Wars Bounty Hunter will launch land on Steam, Nintendo Switch, XBOX, PS4, and PS5 in just over a month. But you may want to wait until after it comes out. Why? Because Aspyr has given us a few reasons to reconsider retreading through these games with it at the helm.

Bounty Hunter can be pre-ordered now. At the Nintendo Store, the title is discounted by 10% until its release on 8/1. Thanks to the Big N, we also learned that the re-released Star Wars game will be 9.5 GB!

That’s got to be all of the updated textures, similar to the massive file size we saw with Aspyr’s Star Wars Battlefront earlier this year. That also brings up some other issues.

The Aspyr team has done some weird stuff. One example was with The Tomb Raider Trilogy. It was patched post-launch to remove sexy pics of Lara Croft that were in the original game.

Star Wars Battlefront was also not without its problems. The two included games were unplayable on launch thanks to small server sizes. Following that, people discovered that Aspyr had (possibly accidentally) included user-created mods without crediting the appropriate creators.

In short, wait for the reviews to appear before spending the $19.99. That’s all I’m saying.
