Spider-Man: Brand New Day Reviews Are Trickling In and It’s a Mixed Bag

Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases to theaters this week. Early Critical Reviews are being posted to Rotten Tomatoes.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on Friday, with previews on Thursday. Ahead of the release, the review embargo has finally lifted, and Critical Scores are starting to appear on Rotten Tomatoes.

As of the time of starting this article, the RT score sits at 91% with 89 reviews posted, but it dropped to 89% in the time I wrote this.

Even the media realizes that the MCU has been lacking.

One thing that sticks out to me is that the media if even calling out the MCU for it’s mid performances since Phase 4 started after Avengers: Endgame.

I guess it’s not just the “toxic YouTubers” that have noticed. Or it’s safe to say it out loud now.

While overall the reviews are mixed, the “Top Critics” tend to skew more negative.

Spider-Man is going to have little trouble dominating the box office. It’s already predicted to do very well, with Deadline estimating $180-$190 million domestically and Box Office Pro going as high as $230 – $250 million for the North American take.

The film is going to do well.

Critics are right about one thing. The MCU has been lacking since Endgame.
