“Snow White” Faces 68% Drop Off For Second Weekend

Things aren’t looking good for “Snow White” heading into its second weekend. Early reports indicate that the film dropped by 68% when compared to last Friday’s box office.

The film has just moved over $100 million globally, reaching $100.2 million, but it’s not enough to save it from a dreaded “box office flop” status.

“Snow White” also looks to be in second place for the domestic box office this weekend.

To make matters worse, the $270 million (before marketing and theatrical cuts) is coming in behind “Working Man,” which only cost $40 million to produce.

“Working Man” is estimated to reach around $15-$16 million, while “Snow White” is estimated to reach $13-$14 million in its second weekend.

A $13-$14 million second weekend is bad for a Disney film, especially at the cost of this film, meaning Disney could lose $250-$300 million at this rate.

“Working Man” rated higher than “Snow White”

Currently, the Cinemascore for “Working Man” is a “B” while “Snow White” is at a “B-.”

Rotten Tomatoes has the new film at a 53% Critical score and an 89% Audience Score, while “Snow White” has a 41% Critical Score and a 73% Audience score.

“Snow White” likely has too much working against it to bounce back.

“Snow White” is unlikely to bounce back theatrically. The film is headed the way of “The Marvels” but with an even lower global box office total than the Marvel film.

Controversy around Rachel Zegler, along with the terrible CGI Dwarfs and apathy toward Disney’s never-ending live-action re-imaginings, have pushed this film down. Each day brings more drama around the cast and film as well.

In a few days, “Minecraft” will be released to theaters with an estimated $64 million domestic opening. The review embargo will be lifted on April 2, 2025, so we will likely have a better idea of the film’s quality then.
