Shocker! Disney’s Snow White Live-Action Remake Looks Like… Snow White?!

“Whistle while you work!”

In a somewhat surprising turn of events, given the drama and controversy surrounding the movie, the first trailer for Disney’s Snow White has dropped, and it actually looks like a live-action version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Now, it could be that Disney marketing is hiding any major plot changes to the beloved Walt Disney classic behind a thick veil of nostalgia, but… the trailer “does what it says on the tin.” It presents a live-action version of Disney’s first animated feature film.

Well, so much of the conversation around this movie has involved the rumored changes to the plot to make the movie more “modern” for current audiences, such as Snow White no longer being saved by a Prince. Much of this has come from lead actress Rachel Zegler herself.

One of the wilder rumors surrounded the Dwarfs themselves being replaced with “magical creatures” after actor Peter Dinklage disparaged Disney for remaking the film.

Another involved the Dwarfs being replaced with a group of racially diverse regular-sized humans per a leaked set photo.

But no. As boring as it sounds, it looks like Disney might actually be playing this one safe. This is a darn good thing, considering it’s literally one of their most beloved movies of all time.

Of. All. Time.

Now, this doesn’t mean that Disney won’t take some major liberties with the film, nor does it mean the movie will be any good.

But at least for the marketing, Disney is banking on nostalgia for the original movie and strictly showing characters, scenes and music from that. And given the internet uproar surrounding this film, if they are planning any major deviations, you’ll want to keep that secret until the film drops… and put a review embargo on this thing until, like, the day before it premieres.
