Shanghai Disneyland is partially opening today, according to Variety.
However, the main theme park will not reopen, just some of the “ shopping, dining and entertainment options.
Certain places in Downtown Disney, Wishing Star Park and the Shangahi Disneyland Hotel will “operate with limited capacity and at reduced hours, and parking lots will reopen.”
Variety has said that guests will be required to wear masks in the Disney Resort area as well as take a temperature screening when they arrive and “present their Health QR code
when they enter restaurant or food areas.
They said it’s been closed since January 25th. This seems more like a money move than anything. Disney owns 43% of Shanghai Disney. Money is quickly becoming and issue for the mouse. It’s estimated that they could lose about $135 million with it being closed for this long.
It just seems like they are trying to find ways to get money back in. But I guess they got to reopen sometime. I just don’t know how many people are actually going to come. Cast Members will have to be there.
Hoping it works out as they plan, but you can’t wear masks when you eat. So we will see how it goes.
