There is a new rumor going around about the Tomorrowland People Mover receiving some “extensive work” this summer. The rumor is coming from BlogMickey.com, so full credit to them.
The People Mover has been having a lot of issues. Before the park closed the attraction’s escalator ramp filled with smoke and the Reedy Creek Fire department was called in. The attraction had some issues with cars hitting each other. Then before the parks closed for the Coronavirus pandemic, the People Mover was shut down and it’s remained that way since.

Now Blog Mickey is reporting that Cast Members from the People Mover are saying they are hearing that the attraction could be down all summer as it receives a full replacement of the “magnetic linear induction motors along the 5400′ track.”
Of course this would take a lot longer than just fixing a couple of the motors here and there. Then they might have to find the parts, which hopefully won’t be too much of an issue.
Disney has not confirmed this so it’s just a rumor, but Ireally hope it’s true that they are fixing them. My kids really love the People Mover and we ride it every trip. The line has been much longer the last couple of years so it must be popular with more than just our family.
