After nearly seven years of no major releases on home consoles, the Marvel vs. Capcom series will be making its triumphant return via the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. The collection is the latest in Capcom’s initiative to re-release many of its classic fighting games onto modern systems, first with the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection in 2018 and then the Capcom Fighting Collection in 2022.
The latest collection was announced this past June during a Nintendo Direct stream. Many fans were caught off guard as it was assumed that due to legal issues between both parties, no further releases from the series would happen.
Over the past two months, it has been speculated when this collection would be released, as it was given a vague window of late 2024. But now it appears that, due to an accidental listing, we may have an idea of when the collection will finally be released.
U.K. based retailer ShopTo listed the item for pre-order on their online shop with a release date of November 22nd of this year. That would give it just enough time for fans to add it to their Christmas list.
The listing was, of course, quickly taken down, but that didn’t stop it from spreading around. While this may be the release for the U.K. it isn’t known if the release will align with the North American market. Sometimes release dates vary depending on region.
Whenever the case fans should have the collection in their hands by the end of the year on Steam, PS4 and Switch (Still no Xbox port).
Are you looking forward to the upcoming collection? Which game are you most excited to play? Let us know.
