The Disney Plus original series Obi-Wan Kenobi is nearing the end of its six episode run. So far the reception to the series has been very… mixed. At first it was reviewed very well, but after the last couple of episodes the reactions from both fans and critics have been somewhat negative.
The series even revived a bit of controversy when it came to the character of Reva (played by: Moses Ingram) when outlets accused critics of the series for hating the show only because of her ethnicity; Which was a rather extreme claim.
Thanks to a recent report from Star Wars fan site starwarsnewsnet.com a listing for an upcoming “Obi-Wan Kenobi Entire Season and Q&A” event has been discovered on Cineplex’s website. The event will marathon all six episodes and feature a Q&A session with the actors and even director Deborah Chow.
The post reads:
“Obi-Wan Kenobi begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat-the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader. This event will feature a live Q&A.“
The event length is listed to be 5 hours and 20 minutes and will take place on June 21st, the date in which the final episode will be released on Disney Plus.
Later another listing was discovered. This time only the final episode followed by the Q&A. The time for that will be 1 hour and 33 minutes.
This does seem like a rather odd decision. The last time Disney had an television show event at a cinema was the disastrous premier of the Marvel Inhumans series. A series so poorly revived it was canceled after one season.
Would you be willing to attend a nearly 6 hour event for the Kenobi series?
