Rose & Crown Dining Room at Disney’s EPCOT closes Feb. 15 for refurb

EPCOT’s Rose & Crown Dining Room closes for refurbishment Feb. 15, 2027, and stays closed through early spring. The Rose & Crown Pub and Yorkshire County Fish Shop stay open.

EPCOT’s British pub is getting a little work done next year. The pint glasses aren’t going anywhere.

Rose & Crown Dining Room, the table-service restaurant in the United Kingdom pavilion at EPCOT, closes for refurbishment on Feb. 15, 2027. Disney’s dining page for the restaurant says it will stay closed “through early spring.”

WDWMAGIC reported the closure Tuesday, Oct. 6. Disney hasn’t given an exact reopening date.

What stays open at EPCOT’s UK pavilion during the Rose & Crown refurb?

The pub and the fish and chips. Disney says the Rose & Crown Pub and Yorkshire County Fish Shop will stay open during the work, “serving a selection of British cuisine and beverages.”

So a pint and some fish and chips are still on the table. The sit-down dining room is the only part going dark.

Why is Rose & Crown closing?

For a refurbishment. Disney hasn’t said what’s getting redone, whether that’s the dining room’s look, the kitchen or the menu.

WDWMAGIC didn’t have details on the scope either. For now, Disney’s announcement is a two-sentence note on the restaurant’s page.

What’s on the Rose & Crown menu right now?

British pub food. These are the dinner entrees and prices, according to WDWMAGIC’s menu tracker as of Oct. 1:

  • Fish and chips: $32

  • Bangers and mash: $29

  • Cottage pie: $30

  • Vegetable tikka masala: $25

The Scotch egg appetizer runs $17, and dessert is sticky toffee pudding for $10 or Eton mess for $9. Dinner is served from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., according to Disney.

Is Yorkshire County Fish Shop cheaper than Rose & Crown?

By a lot. Yorkshire County Fish Shop’s fish and chips went up to $15.49 on Oct. 6, WDWMAGIC reported, as part of Disney World’s latest round of food price increases.

That’s less than half the $32 the dining room charges for its fish and chips. The Fish Shop is a walk-up window with no table service, so you’re trading a waiter and a tablecloth for about $16.

When did Rose & Crown last close for refurbishment?

In 2021, and that one started on Feb. 15 too. The dining room was closed from Feb. 15 to March 20, 2021, according to WDWMAGIC, and reopened the next day, about five weeks after it shut.

The pub and Fish Shop stayed open that time as well, WDW News Today reported when the 2021 closure was announced. This time, Disney is only saying “early spring.”

What can you order at the Rose & Crown Pub?

Mostly drinks, judging by the pub’s current menu. WDWMAGIC’s Oct. 1 listing has imperial pints of Guinness, Harp Lager, Old Speckled Hen and Strongbow cider for $12 each.

Pub blends like the Snake Bite, which is half cider and half Harp, run $12.75. The Imperial Sampler, a flight of the pub’s beers, costs $16.75.

During the refurb, Disney says the pub and the Fish Shop will be “serving a selection of British cuisine and beverages,” so the UK pavilion won’t go hungry.

How old is the Rose & Crown at EPCOT?

As old as EPCOT. It opened with the park on Oct. 1, 1982, according to WDWMAGIC, which makes it one of the original World Showcase restaurants.

It sits right on World Showcase Lagoon, and the patio tables look out over the water where EPCOT’s nighttime show, Luminous The Symphony of Us, plays.

Anyone hoping for one more dinner there before the refurb has until Feb. 14. After that, the fish and chips next door still cost $16.51 less.
