Review of Dublin Chicken Sandwich at Finnegan’s

Going to a theme park in a group or family can be a wonderful experience. Also, it has portions of the adventure that can be stress filled. Now imagine, you have gotten everyone into the park. The realization hits you about where to eat lunch together. Many larger groups simply select food court type quick service type options at Universal Orlando. I suggest that may end in disappointment. High quality food exists at Universal Orlando but generally not in the food court style places like Comic Strip Café and Circus McGurkus.

A key reason people select those places is usually based on the picky diners in the group. If your vacation allows for a sit-down dining experience, you might want to consider Finnegan’s. For example, this full-service place offers quality kid’s meals. Finnegan’s serves Irish themed food so your more adventurous diner can explore that menu. However, quality burgers and sandwiches occur here. One of the higher rated sandwiches is the Dublin Chicken Sandwich. Even the pickiest diner will enjoy this sandwich.

The menu describes the sandwich as “marinated grilled chicken breast with aged cheddar cheese & apple-smoked bacon on a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, & pickle.” Your side choices are wedge fries or a side salad. The chicken breast is generally juicy and fresh. The toppings of this sandwich enhance the chicken breast. In addition, none of these toppings offend the picky diners. The team members/serving staff will offer the cheese on the side if desired.

So how does this taste? There is a reason that it is highly rated menu item. This is one of the better chicken sandwiches you will find on property. For $15.95, this sandwich works as a good theme park value. Now, some guests and online reviews claim the chicken can be dry and too small. I have no doubt that is sometimes true. Chicken dries easily in preparation. Finnegan’s can get busy so service may slow down. The food production process performs admirable here, but no theme park restaurant is perfect.

Of course, the toppings rescue dry chicken if that happens. Personally, I have never experienced the chicken here lower quality. As I write often, this menu item will not change your life. Still, if I was deciding between a quick service chicken sandwich for a few dollars less or this one, Finnegan’s version wins easily. Add in the soda bread with apple butter and a possibility of live music, this chicken sandwich saves the day. May you and your group enjoy dining at Universal Orlando.
