It seems Dino Sue is safe, well if reports from social media are indeed true. I think they are, becuase it would make zero sense to demolish something as important as Dino Sue.
According to McKenna on X, Dino Sue is indeed safe in a storage facility.
UPDATE- SUE IS SAFE! I was assured that she is being housed in one of their storage facilities. They now know how important she is to us ☺️! No promises on if/when she will ever make a reappearance, but that wasn’t my goal. Just happy she’s in one piece! (1/2)

It seems that McKenna was able to speak with people at Disney and confirm the safety of the important T-rex replica.
HUGE UPDATE!!!
I received a call from Disney executive this morning. We are setting a time to talk about the fate of “Sue”. This is our chance guys! Drop any ?’s/concerns you want me to bring up about this situation below, and I will do my best to incorporate them! https://t.co/8iKcBHA4Cw— McKenna (@_mckenna_allen_) February 15, 2026
What is Dino Sue? Why are we trying to save her?
Dino Sue is a replica of the T-Rex Sue, named after the woman who discovered it in 1990, Sue Hendrickson.
Long story short, there was a battle over ownership after the land owner claimed the dinosaur bones were his, even though Hendrickson’s organization, The Black Hills Institute, paid him $5k for the bones.
Sadly, the law sided with the land owner, but Disney along with McDonalds, and private buyers made sure that the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago won the auction.
After this part of Sue was sent to a Field Museum preparation lab in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests could watch them work on the bones.
When completed Disney (and McDonalds) received casts of Sue the T-rex. Disney’s was displayed in front of Dinosaur and later became known as Dino Sue. She stood there for years until the closure of the “Dinosaur” attraction earlier this month to make way for the re-theme to Indiana Jones in a new Tropical Americas section of the park.
Many were concerned that Sue was destroyed, but it appears she wasn’t. I’m not surprised. I didn’t think Disney would destroy something so valuable and historically significant.
What will they do with the skeleton?
Right now we don’t know. We only know that it is in storage.
It is possible that Dino Sue could show up in some capacity as part of the new Tropical Americas. Or at least in some cameo acknowledgement.
Better yet, Disney should loan her out to museums or tour it around for those that can’t make it to the Field Museum in Chicago to see the real Sue. McDonalds did this in 2000 with their replicas. Maybe Disney could do the same as it’s been 26 years since the last tour.
What do you think? Comment and let us know!
