President of Universal Orlando Says They Are Already Planning More For Epic Universe

Epic Universe is close to opening in May. Ahead of that, Universal Orlando put out a video talking about how the resort has become a week-long destination. This may give Walt Disney World a run for its money, especially since Karen Irwin, the President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, has said they are already planning more attractions for Epic Universe.

Today, Universal released a video featuring the people in charge of both Universal Orlando Resort and Epic Universe talking about all the offerings currently at the resort and what is to come.

Take a look!

Karen Irwin’s comments.
  • “It’s an incredible thing to be part of someone’s vacation. In so many ways, our parks and our resorts are such a natural way to get people to feel a deep sense of connection. These are memories that they will have for their whole lives. Universal Orlando has always been a family vacation destination.

  • Epic Universe is going to be a game changer in terms of how much time people are going to want to spend here. Where they don’t have to think about anything, but they get to feel everything.

  • It’s not just opening Epic. The entire resort has something new. Four theme-parks, 11 hotels, everything is there for you.

  • There are already so many things in the works now. We have a slate of new attractions that are in development for every one of our parks. We’re already planning for the next thing at Epic [Universe].

  • We are bigger and better than we’ve ever been before. Even though Epic [Universe] feels a little bit like a finale it really isn’t. There’s so much more to do and so many more stories to tell.

This makes sense because we know there are undeveloped “expansion areas” left at Epic Universe. They could easily add more.

Mark Woodbury Chairman and CEO of Universal Destinations and Experiences offered these comments,
  • “Over the past 35 years, we’ve grown to a fully-developed, integrated resort destination comprised of multiple theme parks, hotels, CityWalk, everything you could possibly imagine to spend your entire week, to create a full vacation destination.

  • It fits our ethos of making the next thing we do better than the last thing we did.

Steve Tatham, Executive Creator, Epic Universe said,

“Epic Universe is a whole new kind of theme park. We’re creating these five immersive worlds. Each one of them an amazing, compelling, story-telling experience.”

Brian Robinson, Chief Creative Officer, Universal Creative commented,

“You push every boundary possible. You can be transported to a place that you’ve only dreamed of.

There is such joy in  something you wished for your whole life or only dreamed of actually becomes a reality.”

Epic Universe opens at the Universal Orlando Resort on May 22.
