Sporked says the prebiotic soda brand is adding jalapeno heat to lime for a limited run in 2027. Poppi hasn’t announced it yet, and a Rainbow Sherbet flavor may show up first.
Poppi might be about to turn up the heat.
The prebiotic soda brand is reportedly launching a Spicy Limeade in March 2027, Sporked reported Saturday, Oct. 17. It’s a lime soda with a jalapeno kick, and it won’t stick around long.
“Starting in March, you’ll have about six weeks to get your jalapeno kicks,” Sporked’s Emily Bell wrote.
Has Poppi confirmed Spicy Limeade?
No, at least for now. We couldn’t find an announcement from Poppi or its owner, PepsiCo, and no other outlet has reported it so far.
Sporked’s story doesn’t say where the news came from. The image it ran is a can design with an “@SodaSeekers” watermark.
That can says “Limited Edition” and “5g Sugar,” with a jalapeno on the front. Until Poppi says something, treat the details as a strong rumor rather than a done deal.
What will Poppi Spicy Limeade taste like?
Lime first, then heat. Sporked expects a bright, sweet lime flavor with the fruity burn of jalapeno on top.
Lime isn’t new territory for Poppi. It already sells Cherry Limeade and Ginger Lime, and Lemon Lime is one of its best-known flavors.
The spice is the new part. Sporked’s writer even joked that the site saw the spicy soda thing coming.
When can you buy Poppi Spicy Limeade?
If the report holds, look for it in March. Sporked says it’s limited, with about six weeks on shelves.
There’s no word yet on which stores will carry it, what it will cost or whether it comes in a multipack. Poppi has done short runs before:
-
Punch Pop, a limited flavor tied to Love Island USA, came out in May, Beverage Industry reported. It’s a fruit punch with notes of apple, orange, lemon and cherry juice.
-
Lemonade launched June 16 as an Amazon exclusive, with 30 calories and 5 grams of sugar, Parade reported. It also came in a Bombshell 12-pack with Punch Pop and four regular flavors.
Six weeks isn’t long, so March shoppers might want to grab it early.
Is Poppi releasing other new flavors?
Possibly two more changes, both reported by Sporked:
-
Rainbow Sherbet: raspberry, orange and lime. It was announced at the NACS convenience store show, with a reported release date of Dec. 28, 2026. Sporked noted there’s “no official word from Poppi yet.” Early launch info suggests it would be a permanent flavor.
-
New Classic Cola and Lemon Lime: Poppi is reportedly reworking both recipes for more fizz and more flavor. There’s no release date.
That second one follows a Root Beer recipe change that Poppi made after fans asked for more flavor, Sporked said.
Rainbow Sherbet wouldn’t be the first of its kind, either. Cove already sells a Rainbow Sherbet prebiotic soda with strawberry, orange and lime, and Aldi’s Summit Popz has its own version, Sporked said.
What flavors does Poppi sell now?
A lot. Poppi listed 17 flavors in a May 2026 press release with Subway.
They include Strawberry Lemon, Raspberry Rose, Orange, Ginger Lime, Watermelon, Cherry Limeade and Grape. Wild Berry, Classic Cola, Root Beer, Doc Pop, Lemon Lime and Orange Cream are on the list, too.
Rounding it out are Cherry Cola, Alpine Blast, Cream Soda and Shirley Temple. Poppi says it has sold more than a billion cans.
The brand was founded by husband and wife Stephen and Allison Ellsworth. Each can mixes prebiotics with fruit juice, according to the company.
Who owns Poppi soda?
PepsiCo. It agreed to buy the Austin-based brand for $1.95 billion on March 17, 2025, and closed the deal that May, Food Processing reported. That price included about $300 million in expected cash tax benefits.
Poppi says its sodas have just 5 grams of sugar. That’s a big part of the pitch, next to the prebiotics.
So if Spicy Limeade does land in March, it’ll be one of the more unusual flavors in a PepsiCo cooler. Jalapeno soda, six weeks only. We’ll see who’s brave.
