Captain Jack Sparrow is heading to London, and this time he’s played by an Olivier Award winner.

George Maguire will play Jack Sparrow in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure, a live theater experience from Secret Cinema and TodayTix. Here’s the show’s official teaser:

Who is George Maguire?

He’s a British stage actor who won an Olivier Award, the U.K.’s top theater honor, for playing Dave Davies of The Kinks in the musical Sunny Afternoon. His stage credits also include Bonnie & Clyde, Burlesque and Hair, and TV fans may know him from EastEnders.

Behind the scenes, Olivier winner Matt Costain directs, Kait Kerrigan adapted the story for the stage, and Jason Sherwood designed the production. Alan Williams handles the music, and Susan Kulkarni designed the costumes.

Phil Daniels is a familiar face, too. He starred as Jimmy in the 1979 film Quadrophenia, played Kevin Wicks on EastEnders and is the voice on Blur’s hit song “Parklife.”

What is Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure?

It’s live theater adapted from the 2003 film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, the movie that earned Johnny Depp an Oscar nomination for playing Jack. But you don’t sit in a seat and watch a movie. The story plays out around you in 360 degrees, with projections, stunts and a live band.

There’s no full film screening this time, Secret Cinema says. The show uses only short clips from the movie.

Before the show, guests can hang out in a pre-show area called Pirate Cove, with pirate training, sing-alongs and games of Liar’s Dice. There’s a full dining experience, too, spread across themed food spaces.

Costumes are encouraged. The show’s website recommends coming dressed in your finest pirate attire.

“Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean is everything we love about immersive entertainment,” said Merritt Baer, Secret Cinema’s artistic director and producer.

“It’s a chance for audiences to experience the world of Tortuga in an entirely new way,” said Angelo Desimini, senior vice president of licensed partnerships and brand management at Disney Theatrical Group.

Where is the Pirates of the Caribbean immersive show?

It’s in a brand-new, purpose-built Secret Cinema venue on Olympian Way at Greenwich Peninsula in southeast London, near North Greenwich station and The O2. This is the first show in the new space, which doesn’t have a name yet. If you’re visiting from the U.S., North Greenwich is a stop on the Tube’s Jubilee line. It’s easy to reach from central London.

How much are tickets for the Pirates immersive show?

Prices start at 49 pounds on the official site, for both standing general admission and a seated option. TodayTix lists tickets from 43 pounds up to 172 pounds.

Age rules depend on the night. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening shows are 18 and over. Other performances are 12 and up, with no kids under 7, and anyone under 16 needs an adult.

Plan for a long night. Depending on the source, the show runs about two to two and a half hours, and doors open an hour early.

Has Secret Cinema done Disney shows before?

Yes. Secret Cinema staged Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Lucasfilm is owned by Disney. It’s also done Back to the Future, Moulin Rouge!, Dirty Dancing and Grease.

The Pirates show was first announced in May 2026. Over here, the original ride is still running at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, where Jack Sparrow and Barbossa have been part of the attraction since 2006.
