Pedro Pascal Insults J.K. Rowling Calling Her a “Heinous Loser”

Disney may have a bit of a PR problem with their Mandalorian / Mister Fantastic actor after he referred to “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling as a “heinous loser.”

Why is Pascal calling Rowling names?

The U.K. Supreme Court recently ruled that transgender women will not be recognized as “women” under the Britain Equality Act.

An activist on Instagram is claiming that Rowling financed the “For Women Scotland” campaign that challenged Britain’s Equality Act in court. Putting the blame on her for the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Rowling posted an image on X with the caption “I love it when a plan comes together,” referencing the 1980s show “The A-Team.”

In response to activist tariq_rauf’s condemnation of J.K. Rowling, Pedro Pascal commented, saying,

“Awful disgusting SH*T is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”

Pascal’s sister is transgender. He has been an outspoken advocate for trans rights.

This comment is not going to help Disney.

Besides the polarizing nature of the comment. Disney is currently in a lawsuit with Pascal’s “The Mandalorian” co-star Gina Carano.

Carano was accused of being anti-trans because she didn’t feel comfortable putting pronouns in her bio on Twitter (now X). This was something that many Lucasfilm employees also did not do.

She was harassed for months until she added boop, bop, beep to her bio. This caused the targeted harassment to intensify.

She was finally fired after she accurately talked about the conditions that led Germans to turn on their neighbors and friends, saying that political division could lead to the same outcome.

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors… even by children… Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

Carano was fired for her comments because they were “denegrating” but Pascal has been allowed to say political things and insult Republicans on a couple different occasions.

(Pedro Pascal posted this post to his Instagram account, which some took as him comparing Trump supporters to Confederates and Nazi’s. The post has since been deleted.)

Pascal, like Rachel Zeger, Mark Hamill, and Mark Ruffalo, has been allowed to make political commentary without repercussion. Now he is going after J.K. Rowling and her connections to a women’s rights group that won in the U.K. Supreme Court.

If Disney let’s this go (which they likely will) it just gives Carano’s attorneys more ammunition against them.

Even if you agree with his comments, the public insults at J.K. Rowling put Disney in an even bigger predicament.

Currently, Pascal is set to star in two Disney films, including “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” in 2026 and “Fantastic Four: First Steps” in July, 2025.  It is unlikely Disney will do anything about Pascal’s comments, even if it is hypocritical of them to stay silent.
