Walt Disney World may be seeing price increases across the board, but a very thin silver lining is on the horizon. Park Hopper ticket holders will be able to visit multiple theme parks at earlier hours!
The resort’s official website announced that starting in January 2024, annual pass holders and those who add the park hopper option to their tickets will be able to visit other Disney parks any time after opening instead of waiting until 2 PM.
There are some conditions, however. Beginning on January 9th, guests must first visit the theme park they have reservations for first. After that, Walt Disney World will not require further reservations for other parks that same day, but that may change.
Another precaution guests will need to take into account is that Park Hopping does not guarantee access to multiple sites. This also goes for dining reservations, Droid Depot, and the lightsaber experience at Savi’s Workshop. Just because you made a reservation on the app doesn’t mean you’ll get in:
“Please note that the ability to visit another park will be subject to the park’s capacity limitations. In the event that the Park Hopper option is unavailable at a theme park, Guests will be notified in real time via a push notification from the My Disney Experience app.“
Is the extra charge for the park hopper option worth it? Yes. Before the pandemic, I was able to do all of my favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in one day.
Sure, it’s a workout, and sometimes the transportation between parks can be slow, but you’ll get your money’s worth. If you only like a few rides from each Disney park, it’s the best way to do it.
