Only one Disney animated feature was nominated for Best Animated Feature in the 2020 Academy Awards, and it wasn’t Frozen II.
Toy Story 4 nabbed a nomination, which isn’t surprising given that Disney-Pixar films seem to be a category mainstay.
However, Frozen II did get a nod for Best Original Song (“Into the Unknown”) but it’s still not sitting well with Twitter…

Oh dear! Tell us how you really feel about it, Twitter.
However, it should be noted that Netflix’s shockingly good 2D animated feature Klaus did score a nomination, and (in my opinion) a well-deserved one. The film was directed by Sergio Pablos, who was a former Disney animator… so there’s that?
Here’s the complete list…
Best animated feature film
- Toy Story 4
- How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
- Missing Link
- I Lost My Body
- Klaus
The Oscars are pretty fickle and oftentimes not an accurate indicator of quality or popularity.
So maybe we all need to just let it go…?
