Today Disney is focusing on the upcoming Disney Cruise Line ship, the Disney Wish, with their announcements. Earlier we got information on the Avengers: Quantum Encounter and now we have some more information on the Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure as well.
When the Disney Wish launches next summer it will offer the first-ever “Frozen” themed dining experience. Today Disney has announced that it is being “catered” by fan favorite, Oaken, with his “Hearty Party Planning Service!”
The story for this experience takes place after the events of Frozen 2. Guests are being brought in to attend the engagement party of Queen Anna and Kristoff.
The dining show is set up in a “theater-in-the-round” style will all the tables facing a center stage area. On stage will be performances by Frozen characters like Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and the “locals” performing Nordic sounding versions of the songs from the films.
According to Disney Imagineer Sachi Handke, Oaken will act as host.
“He’ll visit tables, he’ll visit guests, and he’ll make sure that everyone’s having a great time. Guests will be able to interact with him like never before as he travels around the restaurant and lends his signature humor to the celebration. It’s quite a large venue so he will have VIP transportation from table to table.”
D23 says that the area has a lot to offer fans:
“The space itself will be chock-a-block with Easter eggs from the world of Frozen, including family heirlooms and paintings, an Arendelle soldier’s suit of armor, the grandfather clock featured in the original film, busts of Anna and Elsa, and the lantern featured in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. Plus, the stunning windows that look outside will undergo a magical transformation during the meal that will be snow good.”
The food is going to be Nordic themed of course, but there will be a variety of options for those who aren’t as open to trying new things.
Here are a couple examples of offerings from this restaurant.
The seared Chilean sea bass with vegetables. “Juniper-spiced roasted free-range chicken that comes with a duck fat-fried potato and estragon wild mushrooms.”
Guest can visit the new Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure experience aboard the Disney Wish, setting sale next summer.
