The once unstoppable boy band NSYNC has regained its status as a Billboard Top 10 juggernaut, thanks to an unlikely source. Yes, it was all because of Deadpool & Wolverine.
‘Bye Bye Bye’ jumped back to relevance, reaching the No. 8 spot on Billboard, according to People. Not bad for a song that debuted 24 years ago! As of today, *NSYNC’s music is also sitting at #45 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song on *NSYNC’s third studio album was front and center during Deadpool’s hilarious desecration of Logan’s grave while he fought the TVA. Apparently, the best way to hit a billion dollars at the box office is through disrespect and Joey Fatone!

Interestingly, the boyband’s YouTube channel updated the ‘Bye Bye Bye’ music video to include Deadpool & Wolverine in the title.
It had been over two decades since I’d heard the song. While it was hilarious to see it included in such a weird way in the film, I was reminded of that terrible time when these bands were a dime-a-dozen in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Oh, and I used to date Fatone’s ex-fiance.
Although the pop song’s cameo was fun, it was nowhere near as hilarious as the Backstreet Boys’ appearance in Heaven at the conclusion of This is the End.
Will the Deadpool magic work on the other songs featured in the movie, like Goo Goo Dolls’ ‘Iris’ or Madonna’s ‘Like a Prayer’? Probably not, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see future Marvel movies try to reintroduce pop songs from the past thirty years.
If Reynolds does return as Deadpool, I think the best option for a fourth film is to turn it into a musical. Instead of tracking down Wolverines, Wade Wilson must find the perfect version of Hugh Jackman to play Logan in the MCU’s first X-Men flick.
