North American ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ Tour Is Coming

The Wizarding World phenomenon looks far from fading away after over 20 years of existence. The Wizarding World stage play, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” continues to be popular at several venues throughout the world. Now, the “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” play will hit the road for a North American tour.

The award-winning Broadway play will launch a tour starting September 2024.  The dates and cities are yet to be announced, however. Wizarding World fans will need to wait longer to find out if “Cursed Child” will visit their city.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” is a Wizarding World play built on an original story designed by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” is the original play by Thorne with direction by Tiffany.

This play takes us into the future from the setting of the original books and movies. The play follows Albus, the son of Harry Potter, as he navigates his first years at Hogwarts. Albus develops a friendship with Scorpius Malfoy, the son of his father’s rival, Draco Malfoy.

“Developing a first-class touring production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has long been an ambition of ours,” says producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender in a joint statement. “We are delighted that our wonderful and deeply gifted creative team have found a way to make it possible to bring the magic, spectacle, and thrills of our astonishing show to audiences across North America, and we can’t wait for audiences to see it.”

According to the play’s website,” It’s time to believe in magic again. When Harry Potter’s head-strong son Albus befriends the son of his fiercest rival, Draco Malfoy, it sparks an unbelievable new journey for them all—with the power to change the past and future forever. Prepare for a mind-blowing race through time, spectacular spells, and an epic battle, all brought to life with the most astonishing theatrical magic ever seen on stage.”

This play premiered at London’s Palace Theatre in 2016 before coming to the United States and Broadway in 2018. Additional productions of “Harry Potter and The Cursed Child” have opened in Melbourne, San Francisco, Hamburg, Toronto, and Tokyo.
