“Snow White” is currently failing at the box office, with the film not yet at $100 million globally. Now, a new rumor suggests that Marvel is eyeing up Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot for MCU roles.
Snow White Stars, Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, are both being considered for big roles in the MCU. Which character would you like to see them portray in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? pic.twitter.com/8dVB6Mzbr7

Both actresses have been in the DCEU, with Gadot famously playing Wonder Woman and Zegler portraying Anthea, one of the three daughters of Atlas in the second “Shazam!” film.
The first “Wonder Woman” film performed well, but the second film, “Wonder Woman ’84”, did not. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” didn’t even make $120 million in total.
Given the current status of “Snow White” and all the controversies around Rachel Zegler, she might not be a good idea for the MCU.
What did Zegler do?
Well, Disney has had a PR nightmare on their hands with the young actress.
First, she announced at D23 that the original “Snow White” was dated and the prince was a stalker. It was all “weird.” She also indicated the new film would not be about romance but girl power.
She used a post thanking fans for supporting the “Snow White” trailer to say “Free Palestine.” This allegedly caused Disney issues, including paying for a social media person for Zegler and security for Gadot and her family.
This also reportedly led the film’s producer to visit her in New York to discuss her behavior and posts. Now her fans are harassing the producer’s family, which is not the actress’s fault.
Then, when Trump was elected, after she was told to stop saying things, she said that she wished Trump and his supporters “no peace.” That would be more than 1/2 the potential American audience.
Marvel is not in a place to make more mistakes
On the Marvel front, they are not in a great place themselves. Recently, they had the mornic idea to run a more than five-hour live stream that amounted to a director’s chair shown every 15 minutes with an actor’s name on it. That is how they chose to announce cast members for the next Avengers film, “Avengers: Doomsday.”
Fans were not impressed.
Their last few films have been duds. “The Marvels” only made $206.1 million, however, it cost the company over $200 million in losses. “Captain America: Brave New World” did a bit better at $402.6 million. It might break even.
Disney needs the upcoming Marvel films to do better. It seems they are banking on those same films with “Avengers: Doomsday.” Marvel announced all four of the actors from the upcoming “Fantastic Four: First Steps” film and “Thunderbolts*” during the lame livestream event.” Missing were the characters from “The Marvels” or “The Eternals.” This led some to complain about the casting announcements “lacking female actors/characters.”
While Disney and Marvel are seemingly trying to course correct the MCU it would seem crazy to bring Zegler in after all the backlash and controversies around her.
Marvel fans don’t seem to on board with this idea either.
Be smart @MarvelStudios. Look how @rachelzegler destroyed a Disney IP. If you think she learned her lesson you’re severely misjudging her arrogance and narcissism. pic.twitter.com/RMPhFJRIXC

Anything with Miss Z is a nope for me. If they go forward it will bomb as well since she has destroyed her brand and is a brand destroyer!! Maybe like Disney: Maybe the MCU hates the MCU!!

I think Rachel is toxic enough to sink the mighty MCU. Feige needs to proceed with caution.

I can see Gadot, but Zegler is finished

Background characters, please don’t touch the x-men, the Fox x-men already sucked, let’s not make it worse. They killed my childhood.. just let it RIP

Thanos ultimately failed, but Rachel could be the one to finally destroy the MCU.

At this point it would be ridiculous for ANY studio to consider hiring Zegler. She’s literally box office poisin.

I think this comment brings up an excellent point. Gadot was famously Wonder Woman, I don’t think people can separate her from that.
I don’t want to see Zegler in anything ever, and Gal will always be Wonder Woman to me.

Again, this is all just a rumor anyway, and I’m not convinced it isn’t just an engagement tactic. I would like to believe that Marvel isn’t this stupid, but then I remember their livestream and one of the Marvel Comics’ editors saying that they will never put Peter Parker (Spider-Man) and MJ back together again.
Then there is the reported “super hero fatigue” plaguing Marvel and DC.
That being said, I have no doubt Marvel would shoot themselves in the foot again. Kevin Feige needs to tread carefully.
