Disney has announced today that the two new upcoming stage shows for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “Villains Unfairly Ever After” and “The Little Mermaid–A Musical Adventure ” will open on May 27, 2025.
“Villains Unfairly Ever After”

This new show at the Sunset Showcase will feature popular Disney Villains like Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, Captain Hook, and more. The villains have broken through the Magic Mirror and want to explain “their side of the story” and how unfairly they’ve been treated.
Here is the show synopsis according to Disney,
“They’ve broken through the Magic Mirror’s glass — now what? This immersive musical stage show brings the most devilish foes into our world to figure out, once and for all, who is the most misunderstood. Who has had the worst time as a villain? It’s time for these baddies to share their side of the story in a show full of theatrical magic, witty humor, and plenty of mischievous charm.
But in the end, it’s you who decides who has been treated the most unfairly. But…choose wisely. You never know who might have a poisoned apple up their sleeve.”
“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure”

Also opening on May 27 is the revamped Little Mermaid show. It will take place in her theater located in the Animation Courtyard. Look for the building with Ariel on it, you can’t miss it.
Here is the synopsis from Disney,
“Nestled in Animation Courtyard, Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, Prince Eric, and more will take to the stage to retell the classic story of The Little Mermaid. This fully reimagined show will feature stunning set pieces, imaginative costumes, cutting-edge effects, skillful puppetry, and a bold new design aesthetic that captures Ariel’s imagination and emotions through her unique view of the world around her.”
Two of the popular songs from the film remain in the show, including “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World.” Now new songs will also be added, including “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl.”
The timing of the new shows likely coincide with the shut down of the Muppet Courtyard on June 8. They need a place for guests to go with the Muppets 3D show now gone. Expect that side of the park to get busier.
