New Data Indicates The Acolyte Had Lower Watch Time Than Other Star Wars Disney+ Shows

Disney’s latest “Star Wars” show, “The Acolyte,” has been the focus of fans and the media for weeks. While the show has faced a lot of backlash, the media has claimed that fans enjoy the show and that the viewership is likely fine.

New data from Luminate Data shows the total minutes watched for the last six “Star Wars” shows on Disney+

The chart covers the first twelve weeks of each show. Of course “The Acolyte” has only had half of that time. However, given its position on the chart, the show would need to almost triple its viewership in the next six weeks to catch up.

However, “The Acolyte” did not consistently have a downward trajectory and started to pick up when they began appealing to the Reylos (Rey and Kylo Ren fans) with Oshamir (Osha and Quimir.)

While “The Acolyte” started out strong, the viewership dropped off with each early episode. According to Luminate, the drop was 22% from week one (Episode 1-2) to week two (Episode 3). That decline continued with each week. Week three (Episode 4) declined another 9%. Then, in week five (Episode 6), the audience increased by 19%.

It literally took a ship that appealed to “The Last Jedi” and “Rise of Skywalker” fans to pull the show out of its tailspin. It’s another toxic relationship, but hey, Quimir is cute.

We will have to see where this goes.
