The holiday season has taken over the Universal Orlando Resort. Still an often-overlooked spot in Universal Islands of Adventure, Croissant Moon Bakery holiday treats consistently provide a wonderful option.

Croissant Moon Bakery sits in the Port of Entry area of Universal Islands of Adventure. Guests pass it as they race to enjoy Jurassic World Velocicoaster or Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. However, it offers some quality quick service dining options for breakfast and lunch. This quick service location often closes early, so we suggest an early lunch if you plan to visit here. For the Holidays, this place also offers seasonal sweet treats.
Before visiting, we examined the online menu put out by Universal Orlando. The online menu indicated that the Croissant Moon Bakery sells guests several holiday pieces of sugary goodness this year, such as:
- Grinches™ Heart on a Pillow – $6.49 (red velvet heart with a mascarpone mousse on a sable cookie)
- Cookie Butter Petit Cake – $5.49
- Butter Pecan Christmas Tree – $7.49
- Oatmeal Spiced Bundt Cake – $4.99
Last year, our favorite item came from Croissant Moon Bakery for the holidays. The Holiday Vegan Butter Snowflake Cookie impressed us. However, we do not see that on the online menu this year. This surprised us since we saw lots of returning items for the holiday season this year. For the record, several days after the Holidays event started at Universal Orlando, the online menu still reflects these four items and no others.
Vegan Cookie Butter Snowflake – $4.99

However, when we visited the Croissant Moon Bakery, we noticed that an item that looked very familiar was being sold at Croissant Moon Bakery. We saw an item labeled as a Vegan Cookie Butter Snowflake sitting in the bakery case. As a result, we needed to try it to see if it measured up to last year’s version. For the record, it is still a solid vegan item. However, it does not measure up to the standards of last year. Nevertheless, we still think it is worth the money.
This item is also available at San Francisco Pastry Company at Universal Studios Florida. That also does not appear on the official Universal Orlando Resort Holidays online food menu at the time of writing.
In addition, we ordered this vegan treat twice. Both times, we were charged $4.99. Nonetheless, we feel that the price may be incorrect since it was rung up each time as the Oatmeal Spiced Bundt Cake.
Other Holiday Treats at Croissant Moon Bakery
Since the Vegan Cookie Butter Snowflake appears in the bakery case at Croissant Moon, what got replaced? That makes for a good question. The Cookie Butter Petit Cake got replaced or was nowhere to be found on the opening day of the Holidays at Universal Orlando.
This leaves the following items available at Croissant Moon Bakery regarding holiday treats:
- Grinches™ Heart on a Pillow – $6.49
- Butter Pecan Christmas Tree – $7.49
- Oatmeal Spiced Bundt Cake – $4.99.

The Grinches Heart on a Pillow returns from last year. I wouldn’t say I liked this treat last year. However, I possessed a minority report compared to the opinion of my fellow colleagues who loved it. This green pillow made of mascarpone mousse sits on a sable cookie with a red velvet heart on top. The preparation of the pillow this year was executed very well. The heart and cookie are nothing special. You order this for the mousse, which Universal Orlando chefs do very well.

In contrast, the Butter Pecan Christmas Tree and Oatmeal Spice Bundt Cake make nice treats. Still, we would select another of the tasty treats at Universal Orlando during the holidays over those two. We all felt that these two menu items needed more robust flavor.
We hope this helps with your vacation planning as you visit Universal Orlando Resort. As always, eat like you mean it!
