In fairness, we did not see any signs indicating guests would receive free smells. Still, the brand-new Bowes Signature Candles store in the Westside section of Disney Springs changed the aroma for guests.

The long-standing Sosa Family Cigar shop closed at Disney Springs very early this year. That shop provided high-quality cigars and accessories. As smoking on Walt Disney World property became less and less feasible for guests, this shop looked out of place. In addition, guests walking through the Westside of Disney Springs would often smell the cigars from that shop. Unless you were a fan of cigar smoke, that experience did not positively enhance your Disney Springs day.
Sosa Family Cigar
Since the Sosa Family Cigar shop was a small, enclosed space, what business could take that location without issues with the residual cigar smell? Many months ago, we got an answer to that question. Bowes Signature Candles would become the tenant at this Disney Springs store. Having visited the new store on its first day of operation, it is hard to tell that it used to be a cigar shop without already knowing.

On October 22, 2023, this new Bowes Signature Candles store opened at Disney Springs. It is located next door to Salt & Straw.

An official grand opening ceremony will be held in mid-November to celebrate this store opening. Bowes Signature Candles, an Orlando-based company, grew out of the love for the art of making candles. Previously, Walt Disney World guests could purchase the company’s products within Disney Springs Marketplace Co-Op and Disney’s Days of Christmas at Disney Springs. This new fully dedicated candle store provides another way for guests to buy and experience the Bowes Signature Candles products.

The new store looks bright and clean. Of course, it also smells far different from the previous aroma of this location. Guests shopping here will see various candles, diffusers, wax melts, and other accessories on the store’s walls. Along the wall displays, the various collections of fragrances are organized by scent. Many of the Bowes Signature Candles scents might even remind you of some Orlando area resort hotels or theme park attractions.

Bowes Signature Candles Scents
Two large table displays in the main area present some of the most popular scents. We noticed Clover World and Mistletoe as scents we enjoyed during our visit. The Bowes Signature Candles staff expressed that they appreciated those scents also. Of course, if you want something more Disney theme park-related, you could buy Pineapple Whip candles and even Pirate’s Rum scented candles.

On the left side of the store, a long counter will soon be used for candle-making and other guest activities. It provides a way for guests to make their own candles. Guests can create their own candles under the watchful eye of the talented staff. The expected cost to make your own candles will be $25 each. This service should be available to everyone later this week. Based on the procedure at other locations at Disney Springs, guests can walk in anytime to make a candle. However, the website recommends that groups of six or more people make reservations for a specific day and time.
