Though Netflix has not officially greenlit a follow-up, sources say that Sony is discussing sequel ideas with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, who are open to returning. The directors hint that the next chapter could dive deeper into the backstories of the main heroines—Rumi, Mira, and Zoey—exploring unanswered questions and emotional arcs that remain rich with storytelling potential.
Maggie Kang previously told The Independent that the animated film had to streamline a complex universe into one film but left plenty of narrative “pockets” to explore later.
The fans want Jinu and the Saja Boys back. They may want a Rumi and Jinu reuinion as well.

When KPop Demon Hunters first premiered, Sony Pictures Animation reportedly earned only about $20 million from its licensing deal with Netflix.
