Mufasa: The Lion King Final Trailer

Today, Disney released the final trailer for the upcoming “Mufasa: The Lion King” film.  This live-action film is set to be a prequel to “The Lion King.”

This new story tells how Mufasa became the Lion King. Many have had some issues with the trailers indicating that Mufasa was an orphan, when in “The Lion King,” that did not seem to be the case. However, they might explain it in the movie.

Here is the Mufasa: The Lion King” trailer.

The film synopsis reads,

“Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.”

Many are saying this one looks much better than the live-action version of “The Lion King.” In the 2019 film, many complained that the characters did not look as expressive or as good as in the animated version.

However, most of the comments on the trailer were memorials to James Earl Jones, who voiced Mufasa in the films. Jones passed away in September 2024.

Over on X a lot of comments indicated they would rather watch “Sonic 3” as it releases the same day.

Mufasa will most likely beat out Sonic.
