Monsters Inc. To Replace Muppet Courtyard. Muppets Will Be Added To Rock ‘n Roller Coaster and People Are MAD!

In a not so shocking twist, Disney finally got enough courage to announce their plan to replace the Muppet Courtyard with their Monster Inc. area.  Previously, Disney would show two pieces of concept art that seemingly indicated two potential locations, one of which was the fan-favorite area. The very fact that they refused to answer the question make it clear they were going to do this.

However, they are going to move the Muppets to the Rock ‘n Roller Coaster as an overlay.

Like the announcement of Cars bulldozing the Rivers of America, this has been met with a lot, if not more, outcry from fans. Not only are they getting rid of the last thing Jim Henson worked on with Muppet Vision 3D, they are also retheming the Rock ‘n Roller Coaster.

If this wasn’t bad enough, they are going to keep the Muppet Theater and make it a Monsters Inc. show now!

They know people are going to riot so they are promising to preserve the Muppet Vision 3D film and some show aspects, in some way, maybe.

People are not happy!

Disney wants to replace or retheme any slower attraction so they can upsell single Lighting Lane passes. By retheming and repurposing the Muppet theater and Rock ‘n Roller Coaster they can do it relatively cheaper and then upcharge the heck out of it.

Fans are not happy.
