American Girl has been teaming up with Disney on a line of Disney Princess-inspired dolls. Now, Moana has been added to the list and is available for preorder.
The doll is currently expected to ship by November 27, 2024, and should arrive in time for Christmas or Hanukkah holidays.
Like other standard Disney Princess dolls, Moana will be $135.
The doll write-up says,
“Courageous and determined, Disney’s Moana sets sail on an unimaginable journey filled with new discoveries. Celebrate this adored Disney character with this exceptional American Girl® 18-inch doll with black hair and brown eyes, designed in collaboration with Disney.”
Moana is 18″ tall, like other American Girl dolls.
Her body is a soft cotton with a moveable vinyl head and vinyl limbs.
She has long, curly, black hair styled with a red and orange hibiscus flower hair clip.
The doll wears a cream-colored cotton sleeveless top with a floral print and brown macrame trim with faux cowrie shells. She also wears a red cotton skirt with a sash waistband featuring die-cut trim and tassels and a grass skirt.
Her pendant is meant to resemble her sea star necklace gifted to her by her little sister in “Moana 2.”
She really is a beautiful doll.
One word of caution though. The curly hair dolls are notoriously more difficult when it comes to keeping their hair nice, so be aware of that issue.

Currently, the American Girl website offers other dolls, fashions, and accessory sets based on Disney princesses, including Rapunzel, Ariel, Tiana, and Cinderella, for $135 each.
