Mickey Mouse Teaches Father A Lesson About Watching Your Kids at Disneyland

A cast member dressed as Mickey Mouse seemingly “scolded” a father (or an adult with the child) for not paying attention.

A video has surfaced that caught the entire incident, and now the internet is debating whether or not “Mickey” was right.

Here’s what happened between the family and Mickey Mouse.

The costumed cast member was walking with handlers and hugging a guest.  Then, a child, seemingly excited about the character, ran into him and fell.

Mickey then helped the child up and scanned the area for the guardian.

He sees a man with his phone recording the interaction. Mickey comes up to him, moves the phone, and takes his hand. Then he puts the child’s hand in the man’s and indicates he should hold onto the child.

Then Mickey pats the boy on the head and makes a kiss-on-the-head gesture with his nose. As he walks away, he makes a “shame” gesture with his fingers to the father.

The video was posted by @kaylaontour on TikTok.

From the angle of the incident, it seems that the boy was just excited and trying to get to the character. We don’t know if the parent urged the child to go and see Mickey or if he just took off, as kids do.

However, the parent approached with his phone in video mode, recording instead of making sure his child and Mickey were okay. Mickey took issue with that.

The adult didn’t even apologize to Mickey.

Here are some of the comments on the video:

“Mickey said ‘put down your phone and watch…your…child.'” -OsaBear
“Mickey was like ‘Stop recording and BE A PARENT”- Duckie
“Mickey scolding a parent is the best thing I’ve ever seen” – ashleybankkks
“The fact that he had to pry the phone from his hands to get his attention is concerning” – Maddie
“he’s so real for that” – kayla
“imagine being told off by the real mickey mouse” – carrieee
“If Mickey scolded me like that, I’d be taking myself straight back to the hotel to think about what I did” – Hailey

A lot of the comments are about the cast member dressed as Mickey Mouse being tired of people not watching their kids.

Across the internet, people are overwhelmingly siding with Mickey Mouse.

It is an issue at the parks, with parents not paying attention and their kids climbing up on things, destroying things, or even blowing bubbles into people’s food.

To be fair, Disney does make it necessary to be glued to your phones as almost everything goes through their app now. That being said, parents really need to pay attention. It is your job to do so. The announcements even tell you to watch your children or to take small children by the hand.

What do you think? Was Mickey right?
