Disney has released a new trailer for the upcoming live-action version of “Moana”. This time, we get a good look at Dwayne Johnson playing the live-action demigod.
Here is the trailer,
The live-action version of the film stars Catherine Laga’aia as Moana, along with Dwayne Johnson as Maui.
It is produced by Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Original Moana voice actress Auli’i Cravalho executive produces the new film along with director Thomas Kail, Scott Sheldon, and Charles Newirth.
Personally, I don’t know why we need a live-action version of a movie that is only about 10 years old, but it will probably make a lot of money and encourage Disney to make more live-action reimaginings instead of focusing on marketable new things.
“Moana” will release in theaters on July 10, 2026
