Marvel’s ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is “The Craziest Film” Taika Waititi Has Ever Done

If you were worried about the upcoming ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ film, you might get a bit more worried when you hear Taika Waititi’s comments about the upcoming film.

Recently Waititi talked to Empire about the upcoming Marvel film.

It seems Love and Thunder has recently wrapped up filming, and he seems quite excited about it. I’m just not quite sure if his comments are as exciting to fans as they are to him.

According to the Empire interview he stated it’s the “craziest film I’ve ever done” and then he explained what he meant:

Well, just between (me and) you and the readers, I’ve done some crazy sh*t in my life. I’ve lived, like, ten lifetimes. But it’s the craziest film I’ve ever done.

If you wrote down all the elements of this film, it shouldn’t make sense.  It’s almost like it shouldn’t be made. If you walked into a room and said, ‘I want this and this and this.’ Who’s in it? These people.

What are you going to call it? Love And Thunder.

I mean, you’d never work again. Maybe I won’t after this.

Now Thor: Ragnarok was a bit of a departure from the Thor movies that came before it and it definitely went a bit more comedic in tone. Given that Thor 2: The Dark World is considered one of the worst Marvel films by many, a shift needed to be made. However the comedic overtones weren’t a hit with everyone.

I personally liked Thor: Ragnarok, but I’m not a comic book reader, so maybe I would have felt differently if I was?

Now it seems that it could shift even more with Waititi saying that Thor: Love and Thunder is going to be different than Ragnarok.

It’s very different from Ragnarok,, It’s crazier.

I’ll tell you what’s different. There’ll be far more emotion in this film. And a lot more love. And a lot more thunder. And a lot more Thor, if you’ve seen the photos.

So I’m not sure his comments will instill confidence in fans, but it could all come together and be amazing. Who knows.

I mean it has some of the Guardians of the Galaxy too and it’s fun to see Thor and Star-Lord compete.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters next year, on February 11, 2022. It stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor,) Natalie Portman (Jane Foster,) Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie,) Chris Pratt (Star-Lord,) Dave Bautista (Drax,) Karen Gillan (Nebula,) Jaimie Alexander (Lady Sif,) Sean Gunn (Kraglin,) Taika Waititi (Korg,) Christian Bale (Gorr the God Butcher) and Russel Crowe (Zeus.)
