Marvel reveals MCU X-Men cast at D23: Adam Driver, Inde Navarrette, Sadie Sink, more

Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, Christopher Abbott, Samara Weaving, Inde Navarrete, Maya Boyd, and Adam Driver took the stage in Anaheim. The scooper consensus had different actors for Rogue and Storm, and it was wrong on both.

Marvel Studios finally put the X-Men on a stage.

Kevin Feige brought the cast out during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at the Honda Center Friday night, in front of a room that had spent months guessing. Per Empire, the actors met each other backstage for the first time right before walking out.

Here’s the team.

The full X-Men cast announced at D23 2026

Sadie Sink as Jean Grey. Kit Connor as Cyclops. Christopher Abbott as Professor X. Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. Inde Navarrete as Rogue. Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver is also in the cast.

Marvel did not announce Driver’s role from the stage.

Jake Schreier, who made Thunderbolts, directs. Lee Sung Jin of Beef and Joanna Calo of The Bear have handled the most recent script rewrite.

What the rumor mill got right and what it missed

Three of these names were already sitting in trade reporting.

Sink was a Disney-released fact, since Jean Grey turned up on screen in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Deadline and Variety both had Weaving as Emma Frost back in July. The Hollywood Reporter reported Connor as Scott Summers in early August. Abbott had tested for Xavier per THR’s Heat Vision, alongside Tom Pelphrey, who didn’t get it.

Driver had been circulating in scooper columns all day Friday.

Then there’s Rogue and Storm.

Cailee Spaeny was the name attached to Rogue across weeks of aggregation. Jayme Lawson was the long-running fan favorite for Storm, with Suzy Bemba floated more recently.

Marvel cast Inde Navarrete and Maya Boyd. Neither name appeared in any pre-reveal report we could find, trade or scooper.

Two of seven roles went to actors nobody saw coming, which is a decent argument for how tightly Marvel held this one.

Charles Melton was widely linked to Beast. Beast was not among the roles announced.

What this means for the MCU’s mutant timeline

Disney closed the 20th Century Fox acquisition in March 2019. This is the first mutant team film to come out of it, roughly seven and a half years later.

Fox put out thirteen films in that universe between 2000 and 2020, ran through two Cyclopses and two Jean Greys, rewrote its own timeline twice, and finished with The New Mutants dumped into August 2020 theaters.

The Fox-era cast isn’t done yet either. Avengers: Doomsday arrives December 18, 2026 with Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, and Alan Cumming all returning.

So Marvel is running the old Professor X and the new one within roughly two years of each other, which is a thing the studio will have to explain on screen eventually.

What Sadie Sink said before the announcement

Sink has been talking around this for weeks without being able to say anything.

She told Entertainment Weekly that starting young with a fresh generation of mutants struck her as a smart call. She told Vanity Fair she’d been kept out of the casting process on purpose and found things out from Schreier.

Her line to Deadline before the reveal was that a great cast was coming together and people would be excited once it was all announced.

Turns out she meant seven people, two of whom the internet had never mentioned.
