Marvel is once again returning to the San Diego Comic-Con after its hiatus last year due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes. Interestingly, the lack of Hollywood left many feeling that the 2023 SDCC was one of the better events in recent years, but I digress.
SDCC 2024 will run from July 25-28 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Hall H will be home to a Marvel panel presentation again, and since that weekend is the opening of “Deadpool & Wolverine,” it will likely see some promotional tie-in or at least Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman making an appearance.
Disney may also use this chance to promote films for 2025 including “Captain America: Brave New World,” “The Thunderbolts*” or “The Fantastic Four.” All three films will be released in 2025, ahead, or during the 2025 SDCC event. “Captain America” will release on February 14, 2025. “The Thunderbolts*” will release on April 30, 2025 and the “Fantastic Four” film will be releasing on July 25, 2025.”
On the television side we have some shows releasing in 2024 and 2025 that could see promotion as well including “Agatha All Along” (releasing September 8, 2024) and “Daredevil Born Again” (releasing in March, 2025.)
It makes sense if Disney would use the event to promote those shows and films ahead of the next SDCC event.
So far Marvel hasn’t announced what they will be showcasing yet, but we know they are coming.
