It seems that Mark Ruffalo will not be appearing as Hulk in “Avengers: Doomsday”. At least that is what the actor told Empire.
Does this mean Bruce Banner / Hulk is done in the MCU?
No. Ruffalo is appearing in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” along with Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, and more.
He isn’t out of the MCU, but he says he isn’t in the next “Avengers” film.
What did he say exactly?
Ruffalo reportedly told Empire he wasn’t in “Avengers: Doomsday” and said, “As long as they keep finding cool things to do with Hulk. It’s given me so many gifts. You know, I probably wouldn’t be in Crime 101 if it wasn’t for The Avengers.”
It seems the actor wants to continue playing the character and is in the next “Spider-Man” film, releasing on July 31, 2026.
Some worry that the character will be killed off in that film, and there are rumors that the character may not be in great shape after “Brand New Day,” but from Ruffalo’s comments, it seems that there is still a chance he could return in other films later. Odd that he won’t be in “Doomsday” though.
Lately, it seems he’s known more for activism than films.
